Dr Tinashe Chigwata

Post-Doctoral Researcher

Dr Chigwata is a Post-doctoral researcher MLGI’s Dullah Omar Institute for Constitutional Law, Governance and Human Rights; University of the Western Cape. His key focus areas include the role of provincial and local governments, decentralisation, federalism and peace-building. He is an advocate of multi-disciplinary method of analysing and finding solutions to governance problems in Africa and the world, in general. His key focus areas include decentralisation and federalism (multi-level governance), in particular, how these instruments of organising a state can be used to advance development, deepen democracy and realise peace. He holds a PHD from the University of the Western Cape.
