Dr Johandri Wright

Postdoctoral Research Fellow
Dr Wright received her PhD in law and development in December 2021. Her thesis is entitled 'Legal perspectives on the prevention and minimisation of corruption for sustainability in South African municipalities'. She has presented at ten national and international conferences on public governance issues specifically in cities. Dr Wright has co-published two peer-reviewed articles, one on solutions to municipal financial crises and another on judicial enforcement of provincial interventions in local government. Another article by Dr Wright, soon to be published, looks at how cities can help prevent corruption in the use of marine resources. In addition, Dr Wright has participated in multiple media interviews on whistleblower protection based on her piece 'Whistleblowers in South Africa have some protection but gaps need fixing' published in Conversation Africa.
