Gladys Mirugi-Mukundi holds a Master of Laws Degree (LLM) Human Rights and Democratisation in Africa from the Centre for Human Rights, University of Pretoria. She previously clerked for Chief Justice Pius Langa at the Constitutional Court of South Africa; and worked at the International Labour Organisation (Pretoria Office) on a project, Towards the Elimination of Child Labour in South Africa, Namibia, and Lesotho (TECL).

Her research expertise and interests include human rights, socio-economic rights, social justice and social inclusion, women and access to housing, children rights, rule of law and corruption.
