Paralegal Alliance Network (PAN)

Paralegal Alliance Network (PAN) is a network of Zambian non governmental organisations (NGOs).

The Paralegal Alliance Network originally comprised the Zambia Civic Education Association ZCEA); Legal Resources Foundation (LRF); Young Women's Christian Association and CARITAS Zambia. The Network was created by the founding organisations upon realising that they shared the common objective of providing free legal advice to vulnerable communities. PAN currently comprises 11 legal service providers as members. PAN has two ex-official members – the Legal Aid Board (LAB) and the Law Association of Zambia (LAZ).

The aim of PAN is to enhance the capacity of the member organizations in offering legal aid services, by strengthening the role of paralegals in the justice system. The specific focus areas of PAN are coordination, capacity building, and the establishment of a conducive framework for legal aid and paralegal work. In order to reach poor and vulnerable people needing legal aid, PAN utilizes a network of trained paralegals and their organization. The vision for PAN is ‘Improved Access to Justice for all’ and the mission is ‘To provide a framework for the provision of legal aid through collaboration, coordination, cooperation and training among members in order to contribute to equitable access to justice for all’
