Call for Applications: Post-doctoral Research Fellowship in Multilevel Government 2021 - 2022
The object of the SARChI post-doc fellowship is to support researchers who have completed their doctoral studies within the last five years, to carry out further research and publish in the various fields of multilevel government – law, politics, public administration, and finances. The post-doc fellow will work with Professor Nico Steytler, the SARChI Chair in Multi-level Government, Law and Development, in the following focus areas: multilevel government in South Africa, comparative studies on federalism and decentralization elsewhere in Africa, and global studies on federalism. The SARChI fellowship seeks to engage a highly motivated researcher to build and grow knowledge of how systems of multilevel governance can promote effective state building and development in Africa and elsewhere.
The research fellowship is awarded for one year, with the possibility of renewal for another year, commencing in January 2021. The successful applicant will be provided with a generous monthly stipend, the necessary computer equipment, access to travel funds, and opportunities to participate in international conferences. In return he or she would also be required, in addition to research, to assist in the DOI’s post graduate programme as well as in its various projects.
