Jaap de Visser appointed to Commonwealth Local Government Forum

Prof Jaap de Visser has been appointed as a member of the Board of the Commonwealth Local Government Forum (CLGF).

The CLGF took this decision during its 2017 Conference in Valetta, Malta. Prof De Visser has been associated with the CLGF for more than a decade, serving on its Research Advisory Group and the Editorial Board of the CLGF Journal on Local Governance.

The CLGF is a global association of more than 200 members, mostly in the Commonwealth. The members are key players in local government, including local government ministries and national association of local authorities. The CLGF promotes local democracy.

The Board is its main governing body that decides policies and priorities. Prof De Visser will serve for two years as an alternate board member representing associate members.
