SERP continues to empower community leaders with workshops
The first day focused on Business and Human Rights and Michelle Maziwisa from the Dullah Omar Institute presented on the role of non-state actors in business and how this affects local communities. Ratula Beukman from the University of the Western Cape gave a talk casual and informal labour. She focused on the employment issues to consider.
The second day focused on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights. University of the Witwatersrand, Sibusiso Mkwananzi talked to the community leaders about the role of men in advancing women’s sexaual and reproductive health and rights and Damaris from the University of Western Cape talked about delivery of health services in community she looked at the role of community leaders when it comes to this issue.
