The title of her presentation was 'The campaign on decriminalizing petty offences in South Africa' in which she provided an overview of the South African campaign towards the decriminalization of certain petty by-laws. Her presentation also focused on alternatives to arrest and detention for petty offences as found in a series of factsheets recently released by ACJR which places emphasis on the use of restorative justice and non-custodial measures in dealing with petty offences.
