15th Dullah Omar Memorial Lecture
On 21 October 2025 the Dullah Omar Institute and the Faculty of Law at the University of the Western Cape, in collaboration with the Omar Family, hosted the 15th Dullah Omar Memorial Lecture. The lecture, titled “The Legacy of Dullah Omar, the Human Rights Lawyer,” was delivered by Prof Nico Steytler (Professor Emeritus: Dullah Omar Institute). The event was directed by Mrs Thabile Chonco-Spambo as Master of Ceremonies. Key addresses were provided by Prof Lukas Muntingh (Opening Remarks), Prof Robert Balfour (Welcome Address), and Prof Jaap de Visser and Prof Tinashe Chigwata (Welcome to the Speaker). Ms Rahmat Omar gave the final word of thanks on behalf of the Omar family.
