Dr Jean Redpath

Senior Researcher

Jean Redpath joined Africa Criminal Justice Reform (ACJR) in September 2012. She has a PhD (Law) from the University of the Western Cape. Her thesis considered the role of sub-national government in policing in South Africa. She serves on the Civilian Oversight Committee (CIVOC) of the City of Cape Town’s law enforcement agencies, and on the Provincial Safety Advisory Committee (PSAC) advising the MEC of Community Safety in the Western Cape. Her qualifications include an LLB and BSc from the University of Cape Town. She was admitted as an attorney in 1998. Jean specialises in measuring the impact of policy and law through qualitative and quantitative research methods, and in measuring criminal justice processes.
