Adv Sibonile Khoza

Member of the Cape Bar

Adv. Sibonile Khoza is a member of the Cape Bar. He holds a LLM (Master of Laws) and LLB (Bachelor of Laws) degree. 

He is a former Acting Chief Director and Senior Policy Analyst at the Department of the Western Cape Premier. Previously he was also the Director for Intergovernmental Relations and Constitutional Responsibilities

He previously served as Project Coordinator and Senior Researcher for the Socio-Economic Rights Project at the Dullah Omar Institute (then called Community Law Centre) and as Provincial Coordinator of the Street Law and Democracy for All Programme at the Centre for Socio-Legal Studies, University of Natal (now University of KwaZulu-Natal).

He has significant experience in working with legislation on social issues, intergovernmental relations, institutional governance and cooperative governance. As a researcher at the Community Law Centre, he contributed to the Constitutional Court case of Minister of Health and Others v Treatment Action Campaign and Others in 2002. He also has a wealth of international experience evident in his contributions to international advocacy. These include work with regard to the UN Guidelines on the Right to Food and the Optional Protocol to the International Covenant on Economic Social and Cultural Rights.
