Dr Fikire Tinsae Birhane
Dr Fikire Tinsae Birhane is a legal scholar specialising in international humanitarian law, children’s rights, and African human rights systems. He holds a Doctor of Laws (LLD) from the University of Pretoria, with research focusing on the rights of children associated with non-state armed groups. He has over a decade of experience in academic research, teaching, legal aid provision, and human rights advocacy, including service as Assistant Professor of Law at Hawassa University and as an Online Casebook Intern with the International Committee of the Red Cross in Geneva. His work has been published in leading peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of Conflict and Security Law, and he has contributed to regional and continental research initiatives on children’s rights in Africa.
