Dr Sydney Mufamadi takes part in the Constitution-Building in Africa Conference

Dr Fholisani Sydney Mufamadi has confirmed that he will take part in the plenary debate during the Constitution-Building in Africa Conference which will take place on 6 September in Cape Town.

He is founding member of COSATU, helped draft the National Peace Accord of 1991 and represented the ANC at the negotiations towards a democratic South Africa.

Dr Mufamadi was Minister of Safety and Security in South Africa from 1994 to 1999 and Minister of Provincial and Local Government from 1999 to 2008. He played a leading role in conflict resolution in Lesotho, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Zimbabwe.

In August 2011, Dr. Mufamadi was appointed as the Director of the School of Leadership at the University of Johannesburg. He currently holds this position.
