We have the honour of inviting you to the Awareness Raising and Training workshop for the Dissemination of the Abidjan Rules, within the framework of the Special Mechanism of the Committee for the Prevention of Torture in Africa (CPTA). The said meeting will be held at the School of Public Health, University of the Western Cape, Cape Town, South Africa on 28 June 2024 from 09:00 - 13:30 SAST.
The general aim of this workshop is to disseminate and familiarize participants with the Abidjan Rules.
The Workshop will bring together representatives of various stakeholders and experts from Southern African countries working on the issue of torture and related acts. It will see the participation of Expert Members of the Committee, regional coordinators of anti-torture bodies, prison monitors, National Human Rights Institutions, experts from Civil Society, lawyers, etc. from Southern African countries.
