Punished for being poor in Africa
Every year thousands of people in Africa are arrested and detained in Africa for pettyoffences, many dating back to colonial times such as being ‘a rogue and vagabond’.
Poor people bear the brunt of the enforcement of these laws. This is a call for the removal of such laws and their discriminatory enforcement.
